    Awesome game but...

For a game with this many bullets you can't have a hitbox that big!
A small hitbox would ensure that it's possible to escape from any situation with enough skill.
It seems much more fair that way, you feel kind of cheated when you're cornered :/

Or instead of creating impassable walls of bullets use a smaller amount of them but give them various patterns that the player has to really concentrate on to dodge them.

Or you could use both of those ideas and have a proper bullet hell/rpg game :D

    Awesome game

It's a little overwhelming at first though, you're thrown into a massive world without a map or much direction

And isn't there an autosave or something?
Firefox crashed on me and i had to start the entire game again :/

    Kajenx responds:

Oh no! The autosave must have crashed too then... It only stores information when you go to the menu or close the game. If you want to have a safety net, just go to the menu once in a while to force a save.

    needs work

the levels need more structure, and they shouldn't be so linear

they just seem like random pictures, you need more indication as to what you can interact with.

and the levels need to be more complex and have multiple paths/solutions. it just seemed like i moved the camera into one position and then the rest of the level was done for me

and the camera felt way too slow, maybe have a button that speeds it up

there's a lot of ways you could improve this but i think they're what you should focus on to begin with

did you get inspiration for this from echochrome? ^^

    turtlesoup4290 responds:

people keep saying that. but id nver even herd of echochrome till now :/

    fun :)

it definatly needs to be longer though if there's only 15 levels :3

    i found level 12 really easy :S
i was expecting to get stuck on it after what everyone's saying

    fun :3

for a typing game this is really good :P
and unlike most people i thought the graphics suited the game, i didn't think it looked plain at all

i didn't have any problems with the game, but i thought that the singularity mode was way too hard. I thought i was doing well with 1000 points, and that wasn't even a bronze D:
either make the medals a little easier, or make the letters slower to begin with.
or just leave me to suffer ^^

    could of been better

You stole a lot of ideas directly from amorphous+ , like the crappy stat acheivements, the different sized levels and survival.. you could of at least made an effort to make it look like your idea, you even mentioned nest somewhere which is what the amorphous levels are called
i won't criticize you for that anyway..

the big problem i had with this game is the acheivements..
you could of at least out a tiny bit of thought into them, they're the least creative goals i've ever seen
"die once", "die 1000 times", "die from a certain enemy", "touch the edge of the screen"... oh and "get 10 awards" really pissed me off

78 acheivements may sound good, but they're either too crap to even bother with or exactly the same but just slightly harder than the last one

if you want awards like that, then have one score award (for example) and give it different ranks instead of passing it off as 20 separate awards, it makes it seem a lot less cheap if you ask me.
oh and never have awards like "get 20 awards".. you can give the player a sense of accomplishment for getting a certain amount of them, but another award isn't the way to do it

also in a sequel you could try having unlockable modes, they're not essential, but they are really rewarding and can put on interesting twist on the normal game. You could probably sneak in a few extra acheivements for each game mode too :P

anyway it's a fun game for a while, it shouldn't be too hard to build on this :)
look forward to seeing a sequel if you plan to make one ^^

    great game!

a lot of construction games can be confusing and hard to get the hang of, but this one's really simple and fun ^^

one thing that you could add is selecting and then copying/changing multiple objects at once
when building things with lots of small bits it'd be nice if you could copy and paste more than 1 thing at once

    could be better

i'm giving you a 5 because although you made it fun (for a while) not much effort could of gone into this,
and that face that pops up in between levels is the UGLIEST thing i've ever seen!!
if it wasn't for that thing i would of played past level 2.

and some levels didn't seem like they had much thought put into them. That one with the vibrating buttons seemed too unpredictable and relied partly on luck.

and a mute for the music would be nice.. the current volume control seems to turn off the sound effects as well, which i needed to know whether I'd pressed the smaller buttons.

don't think that this is an unfair score btw, i'm not voting so you don't have to worry about your score

    RatherRandomReality responds:

The next timewaster game I make will have a hot anime chick in between levels just for your satisfaction. I swear.

    boring but kind of addictive

the music and style put me off a little bit and the levels were very repetitive and boring.
i also realised the levels got much easier instead of harder. the 2nd level was pathetic compared to the first, i just moved up and down and kept shooting, even through the boss.

still i found it addictive, but that only kept me playing past level 2

    unplayable

the lag was WAY too bad for me
you should use less filters, because it seems like that's whats causing the problem

and i don't think it's possible for someone to make a game like this without ever touching actionscript, unless you're following a tutorial

it might be your first full game, but i don't think it's your first attempt at actionscript

    Maxwelldoggums responds:

or, you could turn the quality down, right click on it and select quality and then click "low" and it should work... and yes, it is my first attempt, well... second really, (I made a play button in a movie once) =)
